Thomas Prettyman, Esq., Executive Director Before joining LCD in October 2004, Tom was an attorney with Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll LLP. He is a graduate of the College of William and Mary (B.S. 1988, M.A. 1990) and Rutgers School of Law -- Camden (J.D. with High Honors 1998), where he was a staff member of the Rutgers Law Journal. He served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Tanzania from November 1992 to December 1994. Top Linda Peyton, Esq., Staff Attorney and Director of Anti Violence Initiative Linda helps victims of domestic violence obtain Protection From Abuse Orders, and represents them in any other legal matter to help them break the cycle of domestic violence. She joined the Legal Clinic in March 2003 after 20 years with the Defender Association of Philadelphia as a trial and appellate attorney. She is a graduate of Arizona State University (B.A. with Distinction 1973) and Antioch Law School in Washington, DC (J.D. 1981). She was an E. Barrett Prettyman Fellow in Washington, DC., was the director of the Defender Association’s criminal law clinic at the University of Pennsylvania, and is an adjunct professor at Temple University and Arcadia University. Top Brandon Kuykendall, Esq., Staff Attorney Brandon is a graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College (B.S. 2000) and the University of Miami School of Law (J.D. 2005). At the University of Miami, he was awarded the Miami Scholars Scholarship, given to exceptional students who have demonstrated an interest and commitment to public interest law. In the summer of 2003 he served in a fellowship with the University of Miami School of Law Children and Youth Law Clinic, and clerked in the summer of 2004 at the National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty in Washington D.C. Before coming to the Legal Clinic, he practiced civil rights, environmental and land use law at a small Philadelphia firm. Top Eileen F. Carroll, Esq., Staff Attorney & Independence Foundation Public Interest Law Fellow Eileen is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame (B.A. cum laude 2004) and Villanova University School of Law (J.D. 2007). During law school she served as a Villanova Public Interest Fellow at Community Legal Services and as a law clerk at LCD and Regional Housing Legal Services. She represents parents of children with disabilities. Top Rodney N. Warner, Staff Attorney Rodney is a graduate of Syracuse University (B.S. 1987) and Western New England College School of Law (J.D. 1994). He worked ten years with the State of Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities investigating and mediating employment discrimination complaints. Rodney – a survivor of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma – counsels and represents cancer survivors under a project partially funded by the Lance Armstrong Foundation. Top Scott Simpkins, Legal Assistant Scott is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic University (B.S. Mech. Eng. 1994). His responsibilities include administrative and fundraising support and paralegal work. Top |
